Dr. Jessica DeBruler was born and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois for her undergraduate degree as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from veterinary school she moved to Ocala, Florida and completed a rigorous equine internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital. Dr. DeBruler decided to stay in warm and sunny Florida, and joined Blue Skies Equine in July 2014.
Dr. DeBruler has attended Options for Animals Chiropractic College and in addition to graduating from their program is also certified through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She also has studied veterinary acupuncture and earned a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist certification endorsed by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. In addition to chiropractic and acupuncture, her professional interests include ophthalmology, dentistry, neonatology, and preventative medicine.
Horses have been a lifelong passion, and Dr. DeBruler enjoys spending free time with her two horses. She especially likes to compete in the jumper ring with her off the track thoroughbred, and also enjoys hunter paces and trail riding. She loves to spend time with her boyfriend and their two dogs and three cats. Her other favorite activities include hiking with her dog, working out at her CrossFit gym, reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
